College Park was an early planned community. Styles in the neighborhood include English Tudor, Craftsman, Dutch Colonial, Spanish Colonial, Queen Anne, Folk Victorian, High Victorian Eclectic, Greek Revival and log cabins. Literally hundreds of homes in the area, founded in 1892 with the name of Manchester, are on the National Register of Historic Places. East-west streets bear the names of colleges and universities (Harvard, Yale, Mercer, etc.). North-south streets have the names of significant people (Victoria, Jefferson, Madison, etc.). Linear parks adjoin public buildings and schools.
